The two most important tools we bring on every investigation are our eyes and ears. Unfortunately if we want to capture any concrete evidence these tools alone will not suffice. We feel that by combining our senses with scientific instruments and recording devices we are increasing our chances of successfully capturing this evidence. Here is the Viper Paranormal equipment checklist we are currently using on investigations.
Below you will find a list and description of each item you see in the photo. Each piece of equipment is very important and useful on all of our investigations.
Please remember than none of our equipment is harmful to humans, spirits, animals or the environment.
If you have any questions about the equipment we use or just want to learn more about the paranormal please feel free to contact us at any time.
1) Extra batteries, chargers, and recordable media- We never want to run out of batteries and tapes so we bring plenty of extras. We also bring battery chargers when we have the luxury of electrical outlets.
2) Infrared camcorders- We use 3 types of Sony night vision camcorders to capture video in total darkness. They also assist us in logging and documenting our investigation. We record video on 1 mini DV, 2 high8 analog tape, and 2 hard disk camcorders.
3) Voice recorders- We use 2 types of voice recorders to capture disembodied sounds and EVP's. We also use these recorders to log and document our investigation. We use 2 Sony digital recorders, 1 olympus digital recorders, and 1 Sony mini cassette recorder.
4) Electromagnetic field meters or (EMF)- We carry 4 types of EMF meters to pick up on electromagnet flucuations. We use 2 analog meters, 4 KII meters, 2 digital display meters and 2 natural trifield.
5) Infrared illuminators- Infrared illuminators help us boost video visibility so that we can record video in total darkness. We carry 17 Sima Sl-20ir infrared illuminators and 3 high power ir led lights on our investigations.
6) Two-way radios- We carry Motorolla two-way radios to keep in contact with other group members. We do this for safety reasons as well as to keep up with other investigators' locations to help minimize evidence contamination.
7) Ambient and surface thermometers- These thermometers help us measure surface and air temperatures. It is said that spirits can drastically change the air temperature during manifestation.
8) Pencil and paper- We carry these items to help log and document our experiences during the investigation. Sometimes due to the excitment it's possible to forget important information so we write it down. This is very important to our investigations.
9) Extension cables and power strips- If our location has electricity we can use these to charge batteries and power some of our larger pieces of investigative equipment.
10) Experimental communication devices- We sometimes utilize experimental technology on our investigations. Again, these are experimental so we don't base investigations on results from these devices.
11) First aid kit, flashlights, and cell phone- Safety, Safety, Safety. This is our number one priority on all of our investigations.
12) Laptop computer- Sometimes we use our laptop to review potential evidence while still at the location. The laptop is also used for many other applications related to the investigation.
13) Digital camera- We use digital still cameras to try and capture signs of manifestation in photographs. We use Nikon and Cannon.
